come join the choir!

Choir practice is 7'ish, Wednesday evening, after dinner and usually lasts an hour. There is only one requirement to sing with us...Make a Joyful Noise. Everyone is invited, all are welcome, and we have a robe in your size. On the third Sunday of each month, several of us sing at Dogwood Plantation Home and lead worship.

"What if I can't be there every week or have to be late sometimes?" No problem, come when you can and you are never late when you come to the House of the Lord, you're right on time.
"Well...a. I don't read music...b. I'm too young...c. I don't know if I can make a commitment to sing every week." a. You don't have to read music, come on and we'll show you. b. Everyone is welcome. c. This is a tougher one...we are pulled in lots of different directions, our time is valuable to us and we can't do everything we would like to do. I joined the choir at Highland Street CC when I was 13 and found my place of service in music.......Vicky and I were looking for a new church with an active youth group for our kids. The first church we visited was St. Lukes UMC and someone came foreward that Sunday to join. After confirming their baptism, the minister asked...Will you be loyal to this congregation and uphold it by your prayers, your presence, your gifts and your service? That sounded like my kind of church and we spent the next 10 years there........One day I got a message that Susie Hayes was trying to contact me. It seems that Graceland CC was looking for an interm choir director and Susie wanted to know if I knew of anyone that would be able to help. When we accept Jesus we are called to service. There are many opportunities for service at Graceland. Try them all, including the choir. Pray for guidence in your life and listen for the answer. I found my place, you will find yours.
Bobby
